Last week on my Instagram page I shared this mandala pattern just as I had finished it! Now that I’ve had some time to go over the pattern and check for some mistakes (there were a few!), I thought I’d post it here with step by step photos!
It’s a pretty simple make, so you should be able to get it done in an afternoon! I hope you enjoy it! Keep scrolling for the pattern!

I’ve used a 4mm (Size G) hook.
– Blocking equipment
– Yarn needle
– Scissors
Finished size: 20 cm
Gauge: Gauge is not important for this pattern.
THIS DESIGN USES US CROCHET TERMS
– st(s) stitch
– ch chain
– rnd(s) round(s)
– rep repeat
– slst slip stitch
– sc single crochet
– hdc half double crochet
– dc double crochet
– tr treble crochet
– bpsc back post single crochet
– sbpsc standing back post single crochet
SPECIAL STITCHES:
Standing back post single crochet:
In rnds 2 & 4 you’ll need to start the rnd with this stitch. It’s basically just a regular back post single crochet with an extra step:
Attach your yarn to your hook with a slip knot, insert your hook from back to front into the space and continue as you normally would when working a back post single crochet.
Pattern:
Rnd 1: {start with colour A}
In a magic ring: ch 3 {counts as dc}, 11 dc, slst in 3rd ch of initial ch 3.
{12 dc}
Fasten off A.
Rnd 2: {join colour B with a sbpsc around any st}
ch 1, *bpsc around next st, ch 1** rep from * to ** 11 times, slst in sbpsc.
{12 bpsc, 12 ch}
Fasten off B.
Rnd 3: {join colour C with a slst in any ch sp}
ch 3 {count as dc}, dc in same ch sp, dc in next bpsc, *(2 dc) in next ch sp, dc in next bpsc** rep from * to ** 11 times, slst in 3rd ch of initial ch 3.
{36 dc}
Fasten off C.
Rnd 4: {join colour B with a sbpsc around any st}
bpsc around each of the next 2 sts, ch 1, *bpsc around each of the next 3 sts, ch 1** rep from * to ** 11 times, slst in sbpsc.
{36 bpsc, 12 ch}
Fasten off B.
Rnd 5: {join colour D with a slst in any ch sp}
ch 1 {does not count as st}, (2 hdc) in same ch sp, hdc in each of the next 3 sts, *(2 hdc) in next ch sp, hdc in each of the next 3 sts** rep from * to ** 11 times, slst in initial hdc.
{60 hdc}
Fasten off D.
Rnd 6: {join colour B with a slst in any st}
ch 1 {does not count as st}, sc in same st, ch 2, skip next 2 sts, *sc in next st, ch 2, skip next 2 sts** rep from * to ** 19 times, slst in initial sc.
{20 sc, 20 ch-2}
Fasten off B.
Rnd 7: {join colour E with a slst in any ch-2 sp}
ch 3 {counts as dc}, (2 dc) in same sp, skip next sc, *(3 dc) in next ch-2 sp, skip next sc** rep from * to ** 19 times, slst in 3rd ch of initial ch 3.

Fasten off E.
Rnd 8: {join colour B with a slst between any 3 dc group}
ch 1 {does not count as st}, sc in same sp, ch 3, skip next 3 sts, *sc in next st sp, ch 3, skip next 3 sts** rep from * to ** 19 times, slst in initial sc.
{20 sc, 20 ch-3}
Fasten off B.
Rnd 9: {join colour F with a slst in any ch-3 sp}
ch 1 {does not count as st}, (sc + hdc + dc + tr) in same sp, ch 1, skip next sc, (tr + dc + hdc + sc) in next ch-3 sp, skip next sc, *(sc + hdc + dc + tr) in in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, skip next sc, (tr + dc + hdc + sc) in next ch-3 sp, skip next sc** rep from * to ** 9 times, slst in initial sc.

Rnd 10: {join colour B with a slst in any ch sp}
ch 1 {does not count as st}, *(sc + ch 1 + sc) in ch sp, bpsc around each of the next 8 sts** rep from * to ** 10 times, slst in initial sc.

Rnd 11: {join colour G with a slst in any ch sp}
ch 3 {count as dc}, (dc + ch 1 + 2 dc) in same ch sp, dc in each of the next 4 sts, skip next 2 sts, dc in each of the next 4 sts, *(2 dc + ch 1 + 2 dc) in next ch sp, dc in each of the next 4 sts, skip next 2 sts, dc in each of the next 4 sts** rep from * to ** 9 times, slst in 3rd ch of initial ch 3.

Fasten off G.
Rnd 12: {join colour B with a slst in any ch sp}
ch 1 {does not count as st}, *(sc + ch 1 + sc) in ch sp, bpsc around each of the next 12 sts** rep from * to ** 10 times, slst in initial sc.

Rnd 13: {join colour H with a slst in any ch sp}
ch 1 {does not count as st}, *(hdc + ch 2 + hdc) in ch sp, hdc in each of the next 6 sts, skip next 2 sts, hdc in each of the next 6 sts** rep from * to ** 10 times, slst in initial hdc.
{140 hdc, 10 ch-2}
Fasten off H.
Weave in all ends and block if necessary.
