From time to time I like to post ‘mini’ patterns over on my Instagram page and thought it’d be a good idea to start posting them on here as well! There’s only so much info I can fit on an ig post, so by putting the patterns on my blog, I can expand on the original post and include additional details and photos that I hope will be helpful! π
Let’s start with these flowers! As you might be able to tell, I love making them! They’re simple to make and take no time at all.

I was inspired to make these after designing my Vintage Rainbow Mandala & Square! You’ll probably notice the similarities!

β Yarn of your choice
Each flower uses up to 5 different colours. Iβve used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK (8ply).

Gauge: Gauge is not important for this pattern.
Finished size: Approx. 9 cm

β hdc half double crochet
β dc double crochet
β tr treble crochet
β ps puff stitch
β slst-2-tog slip stitch two together
β bphdc back post half double crochet
β fpsc front post single crochet
β bpslst back post slip stitch
Special stitches
Puff stitch: (Yarn over, insert hook into space and pull yarn through) Repeat 4 times. Yarn over and pull through all but 2 loops. Yarn over and pull through remaining 2 loops.
Slst-2-tog β slip stitch two together: Insert hook across both sts, yarn over and pull through loop.
Pattern Notes!
Unless otherwise specified:
– When joining a new colour, use a standing stitch for the first stitch of the round.
– Fasten off using an invisible join to complete a round.
With Colour A, make a magic ring.
Rnd 1: [RS] ch 1 {does not count as st}, work 8 sc in ring.

Fasten off A.
Rnd 2: [RS] {join colour B in any st}
(slst + ch 3 + ps + ch 3 + slst) in each st around.
[16 ch-3, 8 ps, 16 slst]
Fasten off B.

Rnd 3: [RS] {join colour C in any st from Rnd 1- place the st to the right of ps from Rnd 2}
*slst in next Rnd 1 st {working over Rnd 2 slst}, 3 sc in ch-3 sp, fpsc around ps, 3 sc in ch-3 sp, slst in same Rnd 1 st {working over Rnd 2 slst}** rep from * to ** 8 times.
[48 sc, 8 fpsc, 16 slst]
Fasten off C.

Rnd 4: [RS] {join colour D in any fpsc. All sts in this rnd are made in BLO}
*slst in fpsc, ch 3, skip 2 sts, slst-2-tog across 2 sc either side of [Rnd 3] slsts, ch 3, skip 2 sts** rep from * to ** 8 times, slst into initial slst.
[8 slst, 8 slst-2-tog, 16 ch-3]
Do not fasten off.

Rnd 5: [RS] slst in next ch-3 sp, ch 3 {counts as dc}, (dc + hdc + sc) in same sp, (sc + hdc + 2 dc) in next ch-3 sp, *(2 dc + hdc + sc) in next ch-3 sp, (sc + hdc + 2 dc) in next ch-3 sp** rep from * to ** 7 times.
[32 dc, 16 hdc, 16 sc]
Fasten off D.

Rnd 6: [RS] {join colour E around any slst from Rnd 4}
*bpslst around slst from Rnd 4, ch 4** rep from * to ** 8 times, slst in initial bpslst.
[8 bpslst, 8 ch-4]


Do not fasten off.
Rnd 7: [RS] slst in next ch-4 sp, ch 1 (does not count as st), *(hdc + dc + 2 tr + ch 1 + 2 tr + dc + hdc) in same ch-4 sp, *(hdc + dc + 2 tr + ch 1 + 2 tr + dc + hdc) in next ch-4 sp** rep from * to ** 7 times.
[32 tr, 16 dc, 16 hdc, 8 ch]
Fasten off E.
